6 TURBINE TRANSPORT OLTENITA - PETROBRAZI MARCH - APRIL 2010

"To modernize the Petrom refinery in Brazi, Prahova County, were transported six turbines and generators with weights and dimensions exceeded: Hereby, from the second half of March 2010 our company has provided logistics and accompany for this set of oversized road transports from Oltenita to Petrobrazi. Because these parts have had a heavy, concentrated on a relatively small area, has become the choice of configurations and optimal routes for a small bridges and subways request, overpasses and railway transited. For a good weight distribution of 302 t on its axes was required to use a particular transport system, called transformer bridge, consisting of an enhancement of transformers used in railway transport, coupled to two separate trailers. Thus the total transport dimensions reached 110.00m length, 6.00m wide, 5.90m high and a total weight of 650 tones, a premiere for Romania, 56 axes evenly distributed.

Before leaving each transport was required route planning of which we enumerate the carriageway of the interior design curve Bucharest belt entry, disassembly and reassembly of parapets separators and road signs throughout the route.
Due to the exceptional size of transport, road traffic in the area where the convoy has moved was disturbed.
Therefore, we have provided the following ways of acting to resolve the situation as well:
1. Traffic on road sections with traffic jam. Have been identified parking areas for motor vehicles that are in traffic, and possible detours for these road sections .The length of such a road segment did not exceed 10 km, in order not to block traffic for a long period, thus reducing waiting time of vehicles to a maximum of 15 minutes. At certain points of the route, it was possible deviation of traffic on alternative routes, where the waiting time exceeded the estimate;
2. Retired in parking areas or large areas of road width, where possible, to ease traffic, by providing at least one lane per direction. Such situations were relatively rare on this route.
3. Stopping the carriage on the road, right of smaller parks, which may allow alternative traffic along the truck, using a single lane.”
